The Advisor Experiences at Post-Secondary Institutions Field Perspectives report comes from Paritii, a woman-owned and operated firm delivering tech-enabled, data-driven, sophisticated, sustainable and equitable strategies for social impact. This resource is one of the series that resulted from Paritii’s partnership with the Advising Success Network.
The goal of this compilation of insights is to provide institutions with real-world perspectives from advisors that can inform their student success strategies. The information is based on the approach of targeted universalism and collecting first-hand observations from underrepresented groups such as Black, Latinx/a/o, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, and poverty-affected, with the aim of understanding the the few to help the many.
The insights shared in Advisor Experiences at Post-Secondary Institutions help illuminate:
- Who advisors are, their motivations, and the challenges they face;
- The specific needs and gaps in advising support to enhance student outcomes, with a focus on Black, Latinx/a/o, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, and poverty-affected students; and
- Opportunities where technology can address the identified needs and challenges
